Class Schedule
We offer many fine knitting, crocheting and spinning classes. The schedules for our classes are now available by downloading a pdf here: Introductory Classes & Project Classes
Details about our class skill level ratings can be found here: Knitting Skill Levels and Crocheting Skill Levels.
Open Stitch Nights
Everyone is invited to Open Stitch Night on the Third Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. There’s no fee, no registration required, and you are welcome to bring a non-messy supper along. (There is also no paid instructor on hand; knitters are generally happy to help each other, but if you’re specifically looking for help with a project, we invite you to come to a Punch-Card Clinic, described below.)
Carleton and St. Olaf students, teachers, and staff are invited to come to College Stitch Night on the Second Thursday of each month from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00. As with the Open Stitch Night, there’s no fee, no registration required, and you are welcome to bring a non-messy supper along.
We’re considering adding a Parents with Children night, with childcare offered for a fee. Let us know if that’s something you’d be interested in.
Punch-Card Clinics
Northfield Yarn offers a drop-in clinic designed to help knitters at all levels get through whatever has them stumped. For $5 per visit, our staff will help you with whatever project you bring in. We call them Punch-Card Clinics because the most convenient and economical way to pay for them is to purchase a $20 punch-card that covers five clinics. The clinics are on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 – 12:00 between Labor Day and Memorial Day, and on Saturdays from 10:00 – 12:00 over the summer.
Group Meetings
Knitting and crochet groups are invited to meet at the shop. We recommend that you reserve a time if you want to be sure to have seating available.
. . . And More!
We have many other ideas for getting people together–Knit-Alongs, Charity Knitting, and Yarn Tastings, just to name a few. So check back later to see what we’ve added.
