On Saturday, September 25, we're debuting an exclusive new colorway created for our 10th anniversary by indie dyer Knitted Wit. We are big fans of Knitted Wit's colorways inspired by national parks, and we invited them to create a colorway for us inspired by our local state park, Nerstrand Big Woods.

We invited our Annual Club Members to send us images of Big Woods State Park to create a mood board to send to Knitted Wit. A sample of the many beautiful images they shared are collected above. The painting on the lower left was created by local artist Frederick Somers; several members included his work in their lists of iconic Big Woods images.

Knitted Wit captures the spirit of Big Woods perfectly in this speckled colorway, available in DK and Sock.
-
Knitted Wit DK: 100% superwash merino. 280 yards/4 oz, $27
-
Knitted Wit Sock: 80% superwash merino, 20% nylon. 420 yards/4 oz, $29

We've created a cowl pattern that uses one skein of DK, which will be free with the purchase of the yarn. The Big Woods Cowl (Ravelry link) uses garter stitch knit on the bias and optional fringe to highlight all the pops of color in the yarn. Make one to wear on your next hike at Big Woods!

We sent our friend Dawn Malcolm a sample skein of Big Woods, and she used this colorway as inspiration to create yarn bowls, mugs, notions dishes, and stitch markers for our 10th anniversary. Each piece is unique! Thank you, thank you, thank you to Dawn and and Lorajean Kelley of Knitted Wit for making our anniversary so special.
