Our Swatches
We swatched with two of our suggested yarns (one that contains wool and one that does not) to help knitters visualize the different ways that yarns might behave in this pattern.
Both swatches were knit on the same needles (US 5/3.75 mm) by the same knitter with the same number of lace pattern repeats (four across and two up). Both were soaked in cool water with wool wash for 30 minutes and then pinned to dry with the lace gently stretched to open it up.
The blue-green swatch is made from The Fibre Co. Luma (50% wool, 25% cotton, 15% linen, 10% silk). It came out a bit larger, has crisper stitch definition, a heathered appearance, and a heavier feel.
The yellow swatch is made from Kelbourne Woolens Mojave (60% cotton, 40% linen). It came out a bit smaller, especially in row gauge (height). The stitches are more open, and the fabric is lighter with a lot of drape. The colors are bright and clear.
