As summer turns into fall, many people put down their summer hobbies and return to their knitting. We want to make sure that you know all of the different ways Northfield Yarn can help, if you get stuck in a project or want to expand your knitting skills.
Punchcard Clinic: We offer our Punchcard Clinic every Wednesday from 10-12 at the shop. It's a drop-in class (no pre-registration required), and you can come whenever you want and stay as long as you like. The instructor, Jane Bonnesen, is an expert knitter who can help knitters at all levels with whatever has them stumped. Whether it's a dropped stitch, a puzzling pattern, or just something you want help making but don't see a class for, Jane can help! Cost: $8 per visit, or purchase a punchcard for 4 visits for $30.
Personal Outdoor Help Session: You can get 30 minutes of personal attention in our Outdoor Help Sessions, held on the back deck at Little Joy coffee house (just a few doors down from Northfield Yarn). Expert knitter Diane Pearsall can sort out any knitting mystery that has you stumped, and with half an hour of individual attention, you should be able to get all of your questions answered and make some real progress. The fee for these sessions is $20, and you can register online at this link.
Private Lessons at the Shop: You can schedule a private lesson for yourself or a small group on whatever topic you are interested in. The fees vary depending on the number of people and length of time. Just let us know what you're looking for and we can set something up at your convenience!
Classes: We offer a variety of classes in knitting, crochet, weaving, spinning, and more! Some are introductory, some are skill-builders, and some take you all the way through a specific project. We are continually adding classes to our class calendar, so keep an eye on the website or subscribe to our newsletter to see the latest offerings.
And, of course, if you have a question that can be answered relatively quickly, we are always happy to help you if you stop by the shop.
Do you crochet? Not everyone who works at the shop can answer crochet questions, but we can set up a private lesson for you with with our crochet instructor, and crochet classes appear regularly on the class calendar -- so crocheters can get help too!
