2-Color Brioche Cowl: 2 Sundays (Sept. 19 & 26) 3:30-5:00pm
Brioche is super soft and cozy, but it can be challenging for knitters who are trying it for the first time. Put any past difficulties behind you, because you can MASTER the brioche stitch in this two-session class!
Instructor Cynthia Gilbertson has written a straight-forward brioche cowl pattern, and she will guide you through it, while providing practical tips for knitting brioche with confidence. Working with two colors creates a beautiful cowl, and it also helps the new brioche knitter keep track of what they are doing and recognize mistakes in time to fix them.
This is a two-session class. It meets Sunday Sept. 19th and Sunday Sept. 26th from 3:30pm to 5pm at Northfield Yarn.
- Aran or chunky weight yarn, approx. 125y each of two contrasting colors
- 24" US 9 (5.5mm) circular needle (Note: A 24" US 10 is recommended for the cast-on and ribbing if you have one, but it isn't necessary that you get one for the class)
- Two stitch markers, at least one of which should be the kind that opens and closes
- The pattern will be provided as a pdf download when you register
Please work through the first two rounds of ribbing before the first class.
To be successful in this class, you should have experience knitting in the round and be able to recognize knit and purl stitches when they are on your needle.
