Mosaic knitting is a technique that creates beautiful and intricate finished projects with the simple slip stitch.

For beginners and experienced knitters alike, color work can seem daunting.  Mosaic knitting is a great way to get into the world of colorwork knitting without learning an entirely new and complicated technique.

In this class, you will earn the basic techniques of Mosaic knitting.  You will knit various samples of Mosaic patterns and learn to read Mosaic charts.

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner. Should know how to cast on and bind off, form the basic knit and purl stitch, and slip stitches.

Supplies to bring to class:
(registered students receive 10% off class supply purchases, excluding patterns)

  • Two contrasting colors of your favorite worsted weight or DK wool and corresponding size needles.  Class samples are knit with Rowan Alpaca Soft DK, (70% Wool and 30% Alpaca)

  • Stitch markers

  • Magnetic board/magnets for your charts (alternatively, highlighter tape or sticky notes can be used)

  • Sticky notes

  • Pencils and supplies for note taking
