One Sweater is an ongoing design project from The Fibre Co. inspired by a photo series of a single pullover worn by people from all walks of life. One Sweater
is intended to be the perfect blueprint for a timeless raglan sweater and has been reimagined in our range of DK-weight yarns: Arranmore Light, Lore and Luma. Each of these yarns have their own unique characteristics allowing One Sweater to transform. This pattern for all genders is offered in 15 sizes from age 1-2 through to a 64” chest. Our two length suggestions allow you to tailor your sweater to your own measurements as you try it on throughout the process. An accompanying video series walks you through every step of the pattern, making One Sweater a fantastic project for first-time sweater knitters.

One Sweater DK can be knit in any of the following Fibre Co. Yarns: Arranmore Light, Lore, & Luma. 

Sizes: 6 Child Sizes & 9 Adult Sizes, to fit chest/bust size given:

  • Age 1-2: 19-20in
  • Age 2-4: 21-23in
  • Age 4-6: 23-25in
  • Age 6-8: 25-27in
  • Age 8-10: 27-28in
  • Age 10-12: 28-30in
  • Size 1: 30-32in
  • Size 2: 34-36in
  • Size 3: 38-40in
  • Size 4: 42-44in
  • Size 5: 46-48in
  • Size 6: 50-52in
  • Size 7: 54-56in
  • Size 8: 58-60in

Yarn Requirements:

The Fibre Co. Lore (100% lambswool, 250 m (273 yd) per 100 g hank) in Bold - 2 [2: 3: 3: 3: 4: 4: 5: 5: 6: 6: 6: 7: 7: 8] hanks. For longer length - [-: -: -: -: -: 4: 5: 5: 6: 6: 7: 8: 8: 9] hanks.

The Fibre Co. Luma (50% merino wool, 25% organic cotton, 15% linen, 10% silk, 125 m (137 yd) per 50 g hank) in Flax - 3 [4: 5: 5: 6: 7: 8: 9: 9: 11: 11: 12: 13: 14: 15] hanks. For longer length - [-: -: -: -: -: 8: 9: 10: 11: 12: 13: 15: 16: 17] hanks. We recommend alternating hanks as you work to give an overall blended appearance.

The Fibre Co. Arranmore Light (80% merino wool, 10% cashmere, 10% silk, 300 m (328 yd) per 100 g hank) in Glasney - 2 [2: 2: 2: 3: 3: 3: 4: 4: 4: 5: 5: 5: 6: 6] hanks. For longer length - [-: -: -: -: -: 3: 4: 4: 5: 5: 6: 6: 6: 7] hanks.

Needles

  • 3.75mm (US 5) needles for working a small circumference in the round – traditional or flexible DPNs, long circular for magic loop, or 2 circulars (or size to obtain gauge).
  • 3.75mm (US 5) circular needle* (or size to obtain gauge).
  • 3.75mm (US 5) circular needle* (or size to obtain gauge).
  • 4mm (US 6) needles for working a small circumference in the round – traditional or flexible DPNs, long circular for magic loop, or 2 circulars (or size to obtain gauge).
  • 4mm (US 6) circular needle* (or size to obtain gauge).

The child sizes are designed with 5-10 cm (2-4 in) of positive ease. Adult sizes are designed with 0-10 cm (0-4 in) of positive ease. Model wears Size 34-36”.
