Become a Northfield Yarn Annual Club Member in 2020

First Annual Member Celebration January 25!

Become a Northfield Yarn Annual Club Member in 2020.

Did you know that as a Northfield Yarn Annual Club Member, you get 5% off purchases and classes, an annual thank-you gift, free shipping, early access to sales & more? Now is a great time to join, as our memberships begin in January (although new members can join anytime with pro-rated dues).

If you are a current member or purchase a membership on or before January 25, you are invited to join us on Saturday, January 25 from 4 – 6 pm for our first annual Member Celebration! Members are also welcome to bring guests to the celebration, especially crafty friends and family who might benefit from joining the Annual Club.  Here’s a peek at what we have planned:

  • Reveal and distribution of the 2020 Member Gift (we think you’ll love it!)
  • Closing reception for our first Member Trunk Show, featuring some of our members’ favorite finished objects
  • Nibbles and libations
  • Frequent Fiber Points raffle! A very generous member has donated 1000 of her Frequent Fiber Point for us to raffle off. Five raffle winners will have 200 points added to their Frequent Fiber accounts, resulting in a $20 credit to use on their next purchase of $50 or more. You must be present on January 25 and a current member to enter the Frequent Fiber Points raffle.

The Member Trunk show is on display now, so you can still enjoy it even if you are not able to attend the celebration.  And Member Gifts not claimed at the celebration can be picked up at the shop anytime after the 25th.

Please note that participation in our Frequent Fiber Points program is not the same as being an Annual Club Member.  The Frequent Fiber Program is free to join and allows you to earn points on every yarn purchase at the shop. When you reach 200 points, you receive a $20 off coupon for your next purchase of $50 or more.  It’s a great perk that can be enjoyed by members and non-members. If you purchase an Annual Club Membership, you can ALSO enjoy the long list of members’ benefits, including discounts on purchases and classes.

2019 Northfield Winter Walk

Northfield’s annual Winter Walk takes place on Thursday, December 12 from 5 – 9 pm. Stop by the shop to make an aromatherapy sachet, vote in our holiday ornament contest, sample a delicious No Chewing Allowed truffle (and perhaps purchase a truffle gift box!), and cheer on the shop manager as she rashly attempts to knit a sweater in just four hours.

Fall Finishing Frenzy

Do you have a few WIPs that have been in progress too long? How many do you think you could finish in a month and a half if you committed to it?

Our annual Fall Finishing Frenzy starts on October 15 and ends at midnight on November 30. Finishers can share their success and collect a reward at a party on Sunday, December 1 from 3 – 4:30 pm.

Fill out this form to join the frenzy or sign up in the shop!

Love People Be Kind ❤

A Weekend with Lisa Daehlin August 23 & 24 2019
Opera chanteuse, knitting and crochet designer and instructor Lisa Daehlin will visit the shop for an interactive talk about her Hearts: With Love project on Friday, August 23 at 5:30 pm and an introductory class on crocheted broomstick lace on Saturday, August 24 at 1:00 pm. Don’t miss this chance to learn something new with both your hands and your heart! Register online or in store for one or both events!

Lisa Daehlin has been traveling near and far giving away the little crocheted hearts that she makes while riding the New York subway. Come hear how this random act of creative kindness has affected her life and the lives of the recipients. In Lisa’s words: As I travel through life and this world, I find more deeply the wisdom of a friend’s words: “Life IS other people.”Sometimes, it’s hard to connect with the people we meet. I’m a gal from a really small town (264 people), so, it wasn’t all that often that I encountered a stranger.

Now, living in Manhattan, I am blessed with interactions among people new to me every single day. At times, the distance is comforting; other times, it’s uncomfortable. I’m not alone in having someone say, “Hey, lady! What are you making?” when I’m knitting/crocheting in public. Sometime around Valentine’s Day 2016, I began making and giving away crocheted hearts on the subway and streets of New York. It’s been quite the ice breaker.

Join me to hear some of those stories! As always, I see life through a knitted (and crocheted) lace lens, so there’ll be a fair amount of that, too. This yarny-yammering-on includes a presentation of images to ponder, fabrics to pet, ideas, designs, and meanderings.
